Job Description The Inspection Coordinator is a hands-on inspection position responsible for performing inspection activities while coordinating Quality inspection priorities, with a primary focus on supporting inspection across 1st and 2nd shift. Working under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Inspection Coordinator will help prioritize and coordinate inspection activities to support production and shipment requirements. The position will perform First Article Inspection (FAI), mechanical lot inspection, final inspection, certification review, and raw material inspection. The Inspection Coordinator will also generate inspection plan for mechanical lot and final inspection to ensure product is inspected consistently and in accordance with drawing, specification, customer, and quality system requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Quality Manager, duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinate and prioritize inspection activities at the direction of the Quality Manager. Work directly with the Quality Manager to execute established inspection priorities and communicate inspection status, delays, and quality concerns. Provide direction and coordination of inspection workflow while remaining actively involved in hands-on inspection activities. Perform First Article Inspections Perform mechanical lot inspections, including dimensional and visual inspection of machined aerospace components. Perform final inspection to verify product conformity prior to release and shipment. Review certifications and manufacturing documentation for completeness, accuracy, traceability, and compliance with applicable requirements. Perform raw material receiving inspection, including review of material certifications, specifications, heat/lot traceability, and applicable test reports. Generate and maintain inspection plans for mechanical lot and final inspection based on engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and established sampling requirements. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, purchase orders, and customer quality requirements. Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, comparators, and other inspection equipment. Identify and document nonconforming product and communicate quality concerns to the Quality Manager and appropriate departments. Ensure inspection records and quality documentation are complete, accurate, and properly maintained. Assist inspectors with technical questions, inspection methods, drawing interpretation, and inspection requirements. Coordinate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Shipping, and other departments to support production and shipment schedules. Ensure inspection activities are performed in accordance with AS9100, company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. Support continuous improvement activities related to inspection efficiency, inspection planning, and product quality. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional inspection work environment. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. Qualifications Education and/or Experience 2+ years of experience performing mechanical inspection or quality inspection in a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience preferred. Experience inspecting precision-machined components. Experience reviewing engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing documentation. Experience with raw material certification and traceability review. Experience performing final inspection and certification/documentation review. Experience developing or working from detailed inspection plans. Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment. Prior lead, coordinator, or supervisory experience is preferred but not required. Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform inspection-related calculations. Required Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical and dimensional inspection techniques. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to coordinate multiple inspection priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide clear direction to inspectors while working collaboratively with Production and other departments. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to identify quality risks and elevate issues appropriately. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to adapt to changing production and shipment priorities. Ability to remain calm and focused when supporting urgent production or customer requirements. Proficiency with computers and quality/inspection software. Commitment to product quality, customer requirements, and continuous improvement. Physical Requirements Mobility & Flexibility: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while performing inspections or supporting activities on the production floor. Lifting & Carrying: Occasional lifting of materials, products, gages, or equipment, generally up to 25 pounds. Manual Dexterity: Fine motor skills necessary for handling precision measuring equipment, small components, documentation, and computers. Vision Requirements: Visual acuity necessary for reading engineering drawings, performing dimensional and visual inspections, and identifying product defects. Hearing & Communication: Adequate hearing and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and work safely within a manufacturing environment. Working Conditions Exposure to manufacturing machinery and production noise. Ability to work in environments with temperature fluctuations. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, or other PPE as applicable. Regular interaction with Quality, Production, Engineering, Planning, and Shipping personnel. Additional Information Working Pattern : 10:00 am - 6:30 pm Hourly Rate : $23.00-29,00/hr.
