Summary The Laminator performs a variety of techniques to laminate composite components according to drawings and Standard Work Instruction (SWI). SEKISUI Aerospace Job Description Job Title: Laminator I Reports To: Production Supervisor Department: Production Salary Grade FLSA: Exempt, Non-Exempt Salary Range Job Type: Direct Date: 1/5/2023 Level I Entry/Junior level individual contributor, semi-skilled worker who operates machines, factory-related processing equipment, or vehicles. Requires little or no prior experience and no more than a few months of training that is often received while on the job. Has little or no autonomy and works under close supervision. Achieves competency with skills assigned to this level over time. Essential Functions Essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job. Tasks Lay-up composite materials on mandrels according to the manufacturing plan and SWI instructions; wrap mold with composite materials, in preparation for curing process, to form composite parts. Check for accuracy in all prior documentation of manufacturing planning; reporting all discrepancies and schedule concerns to the supervisor. Verify materials being used are according to manufacturing plan. Verify part ID tag and sign off on work performed. Adhere to schedules and time allowances, takt time, for production requirements. Supervisory Responsibility None Provide direction to other individuals. Supervises, hires, trains, provides work direction and problem-solving assistance. Oversees the daily operations of other staff, including scheduling and assigning work. Manage performance, salary, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations. Required Qualifications Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and follow demonstrated steps. Ability to read and understand detailed instructions. Acute attention to detail. Excellent hand eye coordination. Excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of process specifications. Basic math skills. Education High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in composite manufacturing a plus. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Or Additional Eligibility Qualifications None Computer Skills Basiccomputerskills Working Conditions While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment. Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled. Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Exposure to hazardous equipment. Exposure to contaminants. Shared workspaces with other employees. Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs. Lifting pushing, pulling, and bending. Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift and overtime).
