Job Opportunity

This position involves working a 3x12 Hour Day shift from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM. Flexibility is required, including the possibility of floating to different units within the hospital or nearby hospitals depending on departmental needs. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, with variations based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Required Certificates:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • CPI/MAB
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
• Preferred Certificates:
  • TNCC
  • ENPC
  • NRP
• Must hold an active South Carolina nursing license or a multistate license.
• First-time travelers will be evaluated based on their experience.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of charge experience.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 4:1.
• Prior experience in a Community Hospital setting preferred.
• Trauma Level I or II experience is a plus.
• Travel experience is preferred.

Essential Skills

• Management of abdominal pain and acute psychosis.
• Arterial line management and ventilation care (BiPAP/CPAP).
• Administration of blood products and care of ventilated patients.
• Central line care and management, including chest tube insertion.
• Management of emergencies such as drug overdose, seizures, and stroke.
• Ability to perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Experience in triaging and managing behavioral health conditions.

Unit Details

The unit provides care for patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The average daily census is approximately 110 patients, supported by a team including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretaries.

Patient Care Information

The nursing team will primarily handle a wide range of patient diagnoses and utilize advanced medical equipment to deliver care. It is expected that staff will float to other units as necessary based on patient volume and staffing requirements, ensuring that competencies in floating are met.

Additional Information

• Modules required for compliance will be billable, with a maximum of 16 hours of reimbursement available.
• Orientation sessions occur weekly, and annual compliance training is mandatory.
• An EMR system experience of at least one year, specifically with EPIC, is required.
