Founded in 1948 by John Pridgeon and Donald Clay, we are one of the largest independent, value-added manufacturers and suppliers of automotive stamped and fine-blanked components in the United States.

Objective: Direct manufacturing activities to ensure employee welfare and safety, achieve zero defects of products through following our quality policy and systems and meet 100% on-time delivery in an exemplary manner according to the company quality polices.

Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field
• 10 years of experience in creating, implementing, and managing manufacturing operations
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• The ability to prioritize operational needs calmly under pressure, while gathering broad buy-in
• Proven track record establishing and meeting corporate standards and metrics for manufacturing operations
• Results-oriented. Successful in areas of Quality, Safety, Deliver, Cost, and Employee Morale
• Proven experience as a turn-around change agent, gathering buy-in from multiple levels of a complex company in a time of extraordinary growth
• Strong business acumen
• The ability to drive a successful and profitable operations through P&L and other operational metrics
• Strong working knowledge in principles and practices of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing (including standardized work, 5S, and waste elimination)
• Possess a high level of self-motivation, dependability, and professionalism.

Essential functions:

Personnel/Workforce Management:

• Identify future leaders within the company and provide opportunities for their growth and development.
• Guide direct personnel toward the achievement of established goals.
• Effectively communicate with co-works and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives, using appropriate language and tone, timely feedback, and professional communication methods via in-person communication, memos, emails, reports and presentations.
• Work with the human resources department to recruit, hire, and integrate employees needed to execute the functions of plant operations.
• Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management. Complete and present annual performance appraisals for all direct report employees, outlining position and negative performance, and document a plan of action for sub-par performers.
• Exhibit all of the attributes of a position role model (including professionalism, personal integrity, and a positive attitude) for employees and managers to emulate.
• Treat all employees with dignity and respect.
• Assist in maintaining Pridgeon and Clay values daily, through character, modeling, thoughts, and actions.

Production Management:

• Participate in the creation and drive the execution of the annual and long-range business plan and capital plan for the Grand Rapids facility, tracking and control mid-to long-range manpower levels and mid-to long-range equipment capacity levels. Maintain robust contingency plans for all key personnel and capital.
• Establish goals and drive improvement of key performance measures as determined each year.
• Champion and drive cost improvement activities including machine and labor efficiency while maintaining or improving quality levels.
• Drive successful and profitable operations through P&L and other operational metrics.
• Coordinate efforts with safety manager and support groups to drive results to zero safety incidences.
• Oversee scheduling and procurement functions to "delight" the customer and achieve 100% on-time delivery.
• Support APQP process to ensure PPAP's submitted on-time with robust manifesting process to deliver zero defects to the final customer.
• Champion formal problem solving methods in unison with the tooling, quality, and engineering departments to reduce defects, close customers, and deliver zero defect product to Pridgeon and Clay customers on key issues to resolve and communicate action plans as needed.
• Interface with customers on key issues to resolve and communicate action plans as needed.
• Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
• Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
• Lead, facilitate, and communicate lean manufacturing-related systems including cost-reductions, continuous improvement activities (CIA), value mapping, Kanban, 5S, six sigma, and error proofing.

• Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
• Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management.
• Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.

• Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, IATF 16949, and safety regulations.
