CNC Operator

Job Title: CNC Operator/Grinder
Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - 6 AM to 6 PM (Work 36 hours, receive pay for 40 hours)
Training Schedule: 6 months of training required on Monday - Friday, 6 AM to 4 PM (flexible days/times, ideally Monday - Thursday)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a CNC Operator/Grinder to produce high-quality precision tooling. The successful candidate will work with various machine shop equipment to manufacture tooling in a safe and productive manner, within a team-oriented environment. This role involves individual responsibilities in specific machining processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• CNC Operations : Operate CNC machines to produce precision tooling.
• Measurement : Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions of product and ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Blueprint Interpretation : Read and interpret blueprints for machining instructions.
• Machine Set-ups : Perform basic machine set-ups as designated by the machine shop manager.
• Efficient Operations : Operate machines using the most effective and efficient methods, setting correct machining parameters for cutting tools.
• Inspection : Dimensionally and visually inspect products to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Data Entry : Enter relevant data into a database for tracking.
• Safety and Cleanliness : Maintain work areas and equipment in clean and orderly conditions while following safety regulations.
• Work Instructions : Follow both written and verbal work instructions, work sketches, and use shop math.
• Additional Tasks : Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

The incumbent is expected to consider quality, accident prevention, occupational safety, and environmental safety within their scope of responsibility. They will actively contribute to the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, materials, and the environment.

Work Environment:

• This position works in a machine shop environment where exposure to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts may occur.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) and hearing protection are required at all times.

Physical Requirements:

• The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and bending.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Specifications:

• Education :
  • Mandatory : High School diploma or equivalent (additional technical skills a plus).
  • Desirable : Mechanically inclined, with technical CNC machining training.
