ServerThe Server is part of the Culinary Team and provides exceptional dining experiences for our residents by delivering courteous and efficient service.Key ResponsibilitiesThe OpportunityThe Server is part of the Culinary Team and provides exceptional dining experiences for our residents by delivering courteous and efficient service.What You'll DoTakes resident(s) meal orders and serves meals correctly and efficientlyProvide exceptional customer service while engaging with coworkers and residentsBring a heightened awareness for food allergies and preferences, ensuring each resident receives meals as neededDeliver meals, food and drinks to residents and their guests with efficiency and professionalismClean and reset areas of the community, within dining areas, food service areas, and within residents' roomsEngage with residents and others in the community with charm, professionalism, respect, and a bright personalityMaintain a working knowledge of all menu items, preparation, time, ingredients and method of presentationRelay messaging from residents to the kitchen about dining needs, food preferences and orders, and special requestsUse technology, such as a Point of Sale, to provide clear communication between residents and the kitchenResponsibilities include customer service, food service and communicationWhat You'll BringPosition Requirements / Qualifications:Must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years of ageMust possess, at a minimum, a 10th grade education, have completed a similar educational level or have sufficient work experience to meet the position's requirements1-year experience as a server/waiter, or in a similar food service environmentWorking knowledge of health and safety policies and proceduresFreedom from illegal use of drugsFreedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplacePersons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the positionDemonstrates effective time management skillsLocation InformationSomerford House & Place Newark is a beautiful community in Newark, DE, with more than 120 units offering assisted living and Alzheimer's care.Job TypePart-TimeJob CategoryDietaryWork ShiftEveningAuto req ID147028BR
