Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (some flexibility)
Salary: $33/hr - $38/hr

We're partnering with a well-established and highly respected organization in Phoenix to find a Payroll Specialist to join their team onsite. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for long-term stability with a company known for strong leadership, structure, and career growth potential.

This role will own the full payroll process as the sole payroll specialist, supporting a large, multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing high-volume payroll independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  
• Act as the sole payroll point of contact, owning the entire payroll function from start to finish
  
• Maintain and audit payroll data including wages, deductions, garnishments, and benefits
  
• Manage employee updates such as new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and tax setup
  
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
  
• Partner closely with HR and Accounting to ensure alignment across systems and reporting
  
• Support payroll reporting, audits, and compliance requirements
  
• Stay current on payroll laws and multi-state regulations
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of recent payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing
  
• Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees required
  
• Prior experience as a sole payroll professional or working independently is strongly preferred
  
• Hands-on experience with UKG is required
  
• Union payroll experience is a plus
  
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  
• Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting
  
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  

Pay Details: $33.00 to $38.00 per hour
