Position: Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Location: Edmonds, WA

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday; OFF WEEKENDS)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) to join our team. This position requires a Medical Assistant-Certified credential. Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R), Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P), or Medical Assistant-Hemodialysis Technician (MA-HT) credentials will not be accepted. This position is available to both local and non-local candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Vital Signs: Height/Weight, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Pulse Oximetry, Vision Testing.
Prepare for Exam: Positioning/Draping, Record History/Medications/Allergies.
Assist with Procedures: Dressing Change, Pap Smear, Set Up Aseptic/Sterile Procedure Trays.
Administer Injections: Immunizations, Intradermal, Intramuscular.
Specimen Collection: Labeling of specimens, including Sputum, Stool, Throat, Urine (UA/Clean Catch), Vaginal, and Wound specimens.
Conduct Laboratory Tests: Strep tests and Urinalysis.
Perform Office Duties: Authorization Forms, Chart Preparation, Insurance Verification, Ordering Supplies, Pharmacy Calls/Patient Refill Requests, Scheduling Appointments, and Stocking Supplies.
Demonstrate Professional Skills & Knowledge: Administering Medication, Administration of TB Test, Aseptic Technique, Follow-Up Phone Calls, Review Lab Tests, Rooming Patients, Suture Removal, and Wound Care.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
Certifications Required: BLS certification.
License Required: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C).
Charting Experience: Familiarity with EPIC preferred.

Scrub Color: Any color
Schedule: 5x8 hours, Monday - Friday; Off on weekends

This position will not require any on-call duties or weekend work. The selected candidate will work in a stable environment with a consistent schedule at the same location every day. As this is a temp-to-hire opportunity, we anticipate that the selected candidates will transition to permanent employment following successful completion of the initial contract period.
