The Opportunity Why this role matters: As our next Safety Manager , you will be the driving force behind a proactive, high-impact safety culture for a single assigned project, owning all onsite safety efforts from start to finish. In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll partner with field teams and leadership to identify and mitigate risk, lead critical safety initiatives, and ensure compliance across complex construction and electrical environments. Your influence will shape daily behaviors, strengthen safe work practices, and directly prevent incidents, making a visible difference in company health. Responsibilities Company-wide safety leadership and culture - lead and promote a proactive safety culture across all projects, offices, and field operations. Set clear expectations and track metrics for safe work practices, accountability, and continuous improvement. Multi-project safety oversight - provide safety leadership across an assigned portfolio of projects from design through commissioning, with approximately 65 to 75 percent travel to active project sites. Regulatory, client, and internal compliance - ensure compliance with OSHA, state and local regulations, client, utility, and internal URE safety standards across all projects. Internal reporting and governance - implement and manage internal safety reporting requirements, including incident reporting, near‑miss tracking, trend analysis, and communication of lessons learned across the organization. Electrical and construction safety oversight - oversee electrical and construction safety compliance including lockout‑tag‑out, grounding, energized work controls, arc flash, civil construction hazards, and utility interconnection requirements. Contractor and subcontractor safety management - review, approve, and monitor subcontractor EHS programs and field performance, assist with subcontractor orientations, provide direction to subcontractor field personnel, and ensure alignment with URE safety expectations. Field inspections, audits, and hazard planning – during project visits conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and observations across projects, lead job hazard analyses, pre‑task planning, and support daily safety briefings. Incident investigation and injury response coordination - investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and coordinate initial injury response in accordance with company procedures. OSHA documentation and recordkeeping - manage OSHA reporting, recordkeeping, postings, and required safety documentation. Safety training and communication - deliver and support company‑wide safety orientations and required safety meetings. Leadership and mentorship, provide leadership – mentorship, and direction to site safety and construction management personnel to strengthen safety performance and field execution. Client and authority liaison - serve as a safety liaison with client field representatives, inspectors, utilities, and jurisdictional authorities. Site Specific Safety Plan – collaborate with project teams for the creation of project specific safety plans, update company template for continuous improvement. Emergency preparedness - maintain emergency equipment readiness, and support crews in identifying and mitigating construction and electrical risks. Substance abuse program administration - enforce company and site drug and alcohol policies as required. Additional responsibilities - handle special assignments and other duties as requested by leadership. What You Bring (Qualifications) Experience: 5 years’ experience in solar or general construction. BCSP certification (CHST)

OSHA Heat Illness Prevention training First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP training (current) Electrical Safety and LOTO NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training. Abilities/Skills: Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug screens, criminal background, and DMV check. Computer skills, including Microsoft office, Google Suite (Spreadsheet/document creation/modification and sharing) /picture sharing and modification. Essential physical functions and work environment: A bility to perform essential job functions that require frequent and extended time in outdoor field environments, including prolonged walking and standing, in varying weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Mobility: Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR and the ability to travel regularly to our Asheville, NC office and assigned project site to actively oversee field safety operations and support safe project execution. Work Location & Flexibility We believe in autonomy and trust. This position offers a flexible remote/home office structure. Travel Schedule: Expect roughly 65-75 % travel to office locations and project sites, with the remainder spent working comfortably from your home office. Geographic Preference: While you'll work from home, preference is given to candidates located in the Southeast, Northeast and Midwest regions for proximity to key projects.
