Job Summary

Psychiatric Unit position offering evening shifts in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting. The role supports patients experiencing acute psychosis, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, suicidal or homicidal ideation, and dual diagnoses. Responsibilities include patient care, medication administration, admissions support, group facilitation, rounding, vital signs, and charge nurse duties.

Job Details

• Schedule: Evening shift, five 8-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Holidays and every other weekend are expected.
• Required Qualifications: State nursing license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional Information: The 25-bed acute inpatient psychiatric unit may include charge nurse, admissions nurse, medication administration, or patient care assignments. Staff may care for patient loads of up to 5:1, facilitate groups, conduct rounds, obtain vital signs, distribute meals, and support crisis response. Registered Nurses are trained across multiple unit roles. Nursing and clinical staff manage restraints when necessary after de-escalation techniques have been unsuccessful, with security support available during patient escalation and other crises. The position may support patients requiring emergent medical care through emergency services. Navy blue scrubs are required.
