Maintenance Supervisor We have an opening for a hard-working person to lead our team of Maintenance Technicians at The Housing Authority for LaSalle County. We have a fast-paced and diverse environment. The right candidate will possess skills in some or all of the following:Knowledge of:Property/ apartment maintenance practices and proceduresTechnical building equipment and the repair and maintenance of building systemsWorkplace safety, lifting and handling proceduresPrinciples and practices of basic electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance, heating, cooling and carpentry repairs and grounds maintenanceTechniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the telephoneModern office procedures, office equipment and computer applicationsAbility to:Read building specifications and blue printsMotivate and give clear direction and supervision to othersBe decisive, solve problems and prioritize work issuesWork independentlyOperate a variety of hand toolsAnalyze and solve conflicts with staff and residentsExercise judgment with general policy guidelinesUnderstand and carry out oral and written instructionsCommunicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingPrepare, organize, analyze and maintain maintenance records and filesUtilize computer and agency specific software applications MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Any combination of the following experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be insured for operating HALC owned vehicles and/or provide personal transportation as needed to perform duties.Three years experience in staff supervision.Three years experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and building systems and equipment, with a broad range of knowledge of the maintenance methods and procedures involved in the repair and upkeep of residential buildings and apartment units and staff supervision.Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with the attainment of knowledge and skills through the completion of educational or certified programs related to the duties and responsibilities specified. We are offering Full Time employment, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with excellent benefits. On call after hours will be required on a rotational basis.
