Shift Options:

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (8 hours regular time, 4 hours overtime per shift)
• Available schedules include 3 consecutive shifts or 4 consecutive shifts .

Pay Range:

• $20-$25 based upon experience
• 12 hour shifts (8 hours regular time, 4 hours overtime per shift)

About the Position

Position Summary

Direct Service Providers are responsible for providing compassionate, person-centered care while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. Staff follow each resident’s Plan of Care, medical directives, and established care instructions and work as a team to meet the individ ual needs of each resident.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Providing assistance with toileting and personal hygiene.
• Assisting with transfers and mobility.
• Providing assistance with feeding and meals as needed.
• Monitoring residents for changes in physical, mental, or behavioral condition and reporting concerns appropriately.
• Assisting residents with self-administration of medications as permitted and directed.
• Following Plans of Care, medical directives, and other established care instructions.
• Accurately documenting care and changes in residents’ condition.
• Communicating appropriately with care coordinators, family members, guardians, healthcare providers, and other individuals involved in a resident’s care.
• Participating in care plan development and implementation.
• Responding appropriately to emergency situations.
• Cooking meals and assisting with meal preparation.
• Cleaning the home and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment, including resident rooms.
• Supporting residents in maintaining independence, dignity, choice, and community connections.
• Performing other duties related to resident care and the operation of the home as needed.

• Ability to communicate accurately with care coordinators, family members, guardians, healthcare providers, and other members of a resident’s support team.
• Ability to participate in care planning and follow through with established care goals.
• Ability to accurately document care and observations in resident records.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Compassion, patience, and respect for elderly and disabled individuals.
• Willingness to contribute to a supportive and welcoming community environment.

Attendance & Performance Expectations

• Arrive on time and ready to work for every scheduled shift.
• Maintain reliable attendance with minimal call-outs.
• Follow all Plans of Care, treatment plans, medical directives, and workplace procedures.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Prioritize residents’ health, safety, and care needs.
• Communicate concerns promptly and appropriately.
• Maintain professional and respectful interactions with residents, families, coworkers, and other members of the care team.

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older .
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to successfully pass the required State of Alaska background check .
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification .
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, coworkers, families, and other members of the care team.
• Must be physically able to assist residents with ADLs, transfers, mobility, and other required care tasks.
