Mission Engineer

Discover agency problems onsite and translate them into buildable, compliant solutions tied to mission outcomes Design and ship working tools on Axon’s platform, including AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines Configure, integrate, and extend DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, and related systems in agency environments Iterate in the field until adoption sticks and document reusable patterns Apply CJIS, evidence integrity, and privacy guardrails Troubleshoot onsite and coordinate root‑cause resolution across Product, Engineering, Support, and Services Build and deploy AI‑powered workflows using agents, prompts, RAG, and evaluations Drive hands‑on adoption and measure usage, workflow impact, and mission outcomes Assess onsite workflows, identify friction, and define solutions Lead QBRs, mission reviews, and strategic planning with agency stakeholders Define success metrics and capture deployment baselines Share customer insights and workflow patterns with Product and Engineering Turn one‑off builds into reusable playbooks and operational frameworks Identify expansion opportunities and partner with Sales on account strategy Maintain onsite presence approximately 3‑4 days per week Track customer success metrics and support Sales‑to‑Post‑Sales onboarding and handoff Requirements Typically 8+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, program management, operational transformation, or complex deployment environments Proven experience shipping working automations, agents, workflows, integrations, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments Experience configuring products, writing integration logic, and delivering production‑ready solutions Comfort working across hardware, software, cloud, AI-enabled technologies, and integrated systems Strong communication with technical teams and senior stakeholders, including command staff Ability to navigate competing priorities across Product, Engineering, Sales, Support, and Services Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and adhere to security standards Experience in public safety, law enforcement, corrections, or mission‑critical operational environments preferred Familiarity with Records, Evidence, digital workflows, AI-enabled platforms, or integrated public safety ecosystems preferred Background in forward‑deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or operational transformation at scale preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in designing and deploying AI‑powered workflows, automations, and integrations within complex operational environments, while ensuring compliance with CJIS and security standards.
