Special Education Teacher – ABA Windsor Locks Middle School Position Start Date: ASAP Position Type: Middle School Teaching/ Teacher‑Special Education Date Posted: 2/20/2026 Location: Windsor Locks Middle School Date Available: ASAP Job Summary We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students with diverse learning needs. This position involves implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education staff, and creating a supportive, inclusive classroom environment. The candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering academic and social‑emotional growth for all students. Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with PPT team. Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction in both a self-contained and inclusion-based classroom setting. Design and implement lessons focused on 16 core transition standards. Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate inclusive learning opportunities for students with disabilities. Use data to assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed. Conduct reevaluations to determine continued eligibility and inform the IEP. Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders. Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and individual strengths. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field. CT special education teaching license (165). Experience working with middle school students with disabilities (Preferred). Strong understanding of modification and accommodations and best practices in supporting students with severe to profound disabilities. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Culturally responsive teaching practices. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
