Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] – Role Overview Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. Responsibilities Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions, with minimal guidance. Contribute at all phases of the software development lifecycle, including software/hardware integration. Develop real‑time embedded software, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities. Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions. Work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external. Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews. Support the team leads as needed regarding technical decision making and problem resolution. Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality goals. Support system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed. Must be able to obtain “special access programs” (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment. Qualifications – Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. Development experience coding in C, C++, ADA or related languages/tools. Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications – Preferred Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance. Introductory experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system. Proven ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance. Experience developing radar software applications. Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper‑collaborative team environment using typical agile‑oriented tool suite. Direct experience with Agile methodologies. Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues. Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars. Benefits and Compensation Salary range: $75,800 – $144,200 USD. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
