Role Description The Childcare Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Westwood, NJ, responsible for overseeing daily operations across BYU’s childcare and youth programs. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring compliance with licensing and safety regulations, and maintaining a supportive, inclusive environment for children and families. The Childcare Director will manage program scheduling, curriculum implementation, and quality standards for preschool, after-school enrichment, and camps. Day-to-day tasks involve communicating with families, addressing inquiries and concerns, coordinating enrollment, and fostering strong relationships with the local community. The role also includes staff training, performance evaluation, and collaboration with leadership to refine programs and support organizational growth. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Childcare and Early Childhood Development, with the ability to create nurturing, developmentally appropriate environments. Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to effectively engage with children, families, staff, and community partners. Background in Education, including experience designing or overseeing curriculum and learning activities for young children. Leadership and team management abilities, including staff supervision, coaching, and conflict resolution. Knowledge of childcare licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and best practices in inclusive, trauma-informed care. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple programs and priorities. Proficiency in basic administrative tasks, scheduling, and documentation; familiarity with childcare or school management software is a plus. Preferred qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field; prior experience in a director or supervisory role in childcare or youth programs. #J-18808-Ljbffr Build Yourself Up Youth Development Services
