Clinical Nurse (RN) - Internal Medicine Days / Nights Job Summary The Clinical Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients. They carry out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population, coordinate care delivery and education through collaboration with patients, families, and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective, and quality patient care. The role follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care and performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Provide professional nursing care through assessment, accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Carry out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinate care delivery and education through collaboration with patients, families, and all health care team providers. Ensure safe, effective, and quality patient care following organizational policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience High School Graduate Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) For ADN nurses hired after February 24, 2017, must complete a BSN by the fifth anniversary of employment as an RN with UKHA. 2 or more years of experience as a Clinical Nurse. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor Degree in Nursing Licensure and Certification Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Single State license, State Board of Nursing (Kansas) or compact license. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days.
