Maintenance Technician 1Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Technician 1 maintains building and grounds by performing maintenance duties as directed.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Perform general maintenanceIdentify & dump turnings / solid scrap in designated containersDrain liquids into designated containersSchedule scrap pickup, complete packing slipLoad and unload metal scrap, complete scrap log, stack empty containersOperate & maintain chip spinner; keep area clean, organized & oil-freeOperate & maintain fork truck & manual liftBasic knowledge & operation of hand toolsPerform filter changes throughout facility: HVAC, smog hog, air compressor, machinesPerform machine coolant changes: clean, refill, check concentration levelsMust be safety and quality conscious and continuously look for quality improvementsRequirements:Must have a valid driver's licenseExhibit core values of honesty, integrity, respect and responsibilityMaintain a clean and orderly environment and perform all assignments in a safe mannerRead, write and interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, blueprint, diagram and schedule form (English)Ability to manage a wide variety of activities and multi-taskAble to physically stand, bend, squat and lift 50 pounds safelyRequired to use hands to handle, touch and feel tools, equipment and controlsVision requirements include close range, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focusAbility to understand and comply with all company, safety and quality policies and proceduresWorking Conditions:Exposure to moderate noisesTemperature variancesExposure to fumes, chemicals and airborne particles
