We are looking for an accomplished finance executive to serve as our next Regional Vice President of Finance, providing strategic leadership across multiple healthcare-focused businesses and partnering closely with senior leaders to drive performance, growth, and long-term sustainability.

 

This is an opportunity for a highly strategic, collaborative finance leader to bring strong business judgment and executive perspective to a complex, highly matrixed healthcare environment—helping leaders understand the economics behind their decisions, navigate opportunities and challenges, and translate financial insight into meaningful action.

 

The Regional Vice President leads financial statement reporting, operating and capital budget development, annual operating budget targets, monthly results variance analysis, business plan development, and financial evaluation of new programs and strategic initiatives.  This role serves as a trusted strategic advisor to regional presidents and their respective senior leadership teams, providing financial insight, business judgement, and decision support to advance regional and enterprise priorities.  

 

The leader will have demonstrated significant experience leading complex financial services, establishing strong business and financial planning processes, budgeting, driving critical financial decisions, assessing corporate model changes and delivering timely financial and management reporting. The leader will partner with senior executives to evaluate business economics, guide capital allocation, assess technical and business investments, and identify enterprise opportunities that support informed strategic decision-making. This individual must bring strong strategic judgment, executive presence, and the ability to operate effectively across a highly matrixed, diversified health care environment.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides executive oversight of monthly financial statement preparation and the annual audit process, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with organizational financial standards.
2. Provides leadership and strategic direction in the development of regional and operating unit strategies
3. Provides leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial and managerial reporting systems that enable timely, accurate analysis and informed decision-making.
4. Provides strategic oversight into long-range financial planning, capital planning, and operating budget development to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and financial performance objectives.
5. Leads complex financial analyses and strategic projects in partnership with business development, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other growth or portfolio optimization opportunities.
6. Partners with operational leaders to drive financial performance, growth, accountability, and disciplined execution across assigned areas of responsibility.
7. Analyzes and evaluates potential internal and external impacts of new services and delivery system changes within existing areas to support high-quality, efficient, and compliant operations.
8. Oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of programs and services, ensuring appropriate resources, effective execution, and alignment with strategic priorities.
9. Models executive leadership and fosters a culture that values team members, accountability, engagement, and organizational excellence.
10. Collaborates across all levels of leadership, support functions, and external partners to advance the vision and strategic direction for areas of responsibility.
11. Leads effectively within a highly matrix environment, using an agile approach to drive cross-functional alignment, accelerate decision-making, and execute priorities quickly and effectively within complex enterprise structures.
12. Communicates key financial, strategic, and operational information to internal and external stakeholders, including government officials, university leaders, regulatory agencies and the community at large, representing the respective regional entities.
13. Champions continuous process improvement and adaptive innovation responsive to the needs of the customer.
14. Oversees the development and implementation of processes and procedures that ensure compliance with organizational policies and accrediting agency requirements while supporting effective cost management. 
15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Master of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive financial experience in a management role within a complex hospital/health system.
• Demonstrated experience  across diverse health care businesses in a multi-unit, diversified organization, including complex reimbursement structures, funds flow models, and enterprise issues that extend beyond traditional finance.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic, and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable business insights.
• Executive presence with superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence, align, and engage stakeholders.
