Overview Job Title: Traffic Producer/Reporter Department: Programming Reporting To: Brand Manager Employment Type: Part-Time Pay Transparency: $23.56/Hr. - $32.40/Hr. Location(s): Chicago, IL Work Arrangement: On-Site The anticipated starting salary range for Illinois-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $22.20/Hr and $30.53/Hr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity. Overview The WBBM-AM Traffic Center is looking for a dynamic and talented professionalto workin a fast paced environmentas a trafficproducer/reporter. Producerduties include: gather, write, and select trafficinformationto run inon-airradio traffic reports, on line, and on social media platforms. Be able to manage multiple scanner frequencies, digital platforms, & maps forthe production, writing, and presentation of traffic reports and digital content. Reporter duties may include sports reporting. Responsibilities Gathering, writing, recording, editing, and delivering traffic reports as outlined by Audacy Inc. Monitoring of traffic gathering assets (ie: traffic camera imagery, scanner listening, etc). Post, edit and manage traffic information to Audacy social media accounts (ie: Twitter, etc). Voicing traffic reports on Audacy stations to air on broadcast and digital platforms. Provide live reads of traffic sponsors within designated reports by the company including logging commercials and discrepancies. Other duties as required by management. This position offers AFTRA benefits and applicant must be willing to join SAG AFTRA union. Qualifications More About You Required & Preferred A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required. Demonstrate knowledge of Chicago area and traffic geography. Minimum of 2 year traffic, news, and/or sports reporting for broadcast media. Must be computer literate, and have excellent writing and presentation skills. Preferred Ability to gather traffic information is a must. Knowledge of the broadcast area geography and transportation systems is essential. Role Expectations (included but not limited to) Studio-Based Reporting: Work from the studio to mitigate risks associated with internet or power outages that could disrupt reporting. Utilize the studio’s backup power and resources to ensure continuous operation. Receive and Respond to Traffic Tips: Handle listener tip calls regarding traffic information, received by phone in the studio. In-Person Engagement: Collaborate directly with editors and news anchors to facilitate quick communication and coordination, especially in urgent traffic news situations. Enhance Ratings through Studio Work: Contribute to improved PPM (Portable People Meter) results by delivering uncompressed audio reports from the studio, which positively impacts overall station ratings.
