Field Service Technician

HTI is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician for a global leader in industrial furnace manufacturing. This position is ideal for someone with a strong industrial electrical maintenance background who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working directly with customers, and traveling to support installations and service needs worldwide.

The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in both field and manufacturing environments. This role offers a balanced travel schedule, typically alternating between travel assignments and time spent supporting customers remotely from the office. This position is in Pineville, NC , and is Direct Hire , M-F . The pay range is $34-$38/hr depending on experience.

What You Need:

• 4+ years of industrial maintenance, field service, or electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Strong background troubleshooting industrial electrical systems.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI systems for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work on electro-mechanical equipment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration, or commissioning activities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Passport or willingness to obtain a passport during training.
• Technical degree, military electrical experience, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.

What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Field Service Technician serves as a technical representative and customer-facing ambassador for ELNIK Systems. This individual will support equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, service calls, and customer training for industrial furnace systems worldwide.
New technicians receive extensive hands-on training and will initially travel alongside experienced technicians before independently supporting customers.

• Perform commissioning and startup activities for industrial furnace equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, control, and mechanical system issues.
• Conduct annual preventive maintenance services, inspections, cleaning, and equipment assessments.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting assistance from the office.
• Perform calibration, certification, and system verification activities.
• Diagnose PLC and HMI-related issues and work with engineering and service teams to resolve problems.
• Document service activities, findings, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with customers regarding service schedules and maintenance requirements.
• Train operators and maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation and maintenance.
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence while representing ELNIK at customer facilities worldwide.
• Follow all company and customer safety requirements while performing field service activities.

Travel Requirements

• Approximately 40-60% travel, including domestic and international assignments.
• Travel is typically planned in advance and consists primarily of:
  • Equipment commissioning
  • Preventive maintenance visits
  • Scheduled service work
• Travel schedules are designed to promote work-life balance, often alternating between travel assignments and time spent in the office.
• Emergency travel is uncommon, with most customer visits scheduled weeks in advance.
