Lead Threes / Pre-K Teachers

The Child Development Center

Full‑Time Lead Threes and Pre‑K Teachers – NAEYC Accredited Preschool The Child Development Center is looking for energetic, creative, and loving Lead Threes and Pre‑K Teachers to join our teaching team. We are NAEYC accredited and a 4‑Star Texas Rising Star preschool located in Southwest Austin serving children infants through Pre‑K. As an established non‑profit preschool, our primary focus is on children, families, and staff. Lead Teacher is a full‑time, exempt, year‑round position. Lead Teachers work Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Benefits Competitive salary range $55,000 – $63,000+ per year, commensurate with experience and education (highest pay in the industry and the area) Generous paid holidays (~20 days per year, including paid weeks off at Spring Break & Winter Break) with additional individual PTO Low teacher/student ratios Daily planning time Continuous teacher support through daily planning time and dedicated Education Administrators Discounted tuition rates for employees' children (dependent on current staff enrollment) Continued professional development and training Excellent benefits package, including health insurance, vision, and dental 401(K) with generous matching (after 1st year of employment) Generous paid parental leave (after 1st year of employment) Ideal Candidate Have classroom experience as a lead teacher Have a Bachelor's Degree in Education Have a passion for creating a nurturing, safe, and supportive learning environment that is stimulating and conducive to learning. Value play‑based learning Have a love for children and the desire to make a difference in their lives. Maintain a commitment to professionalism. Have a strong desire to work collaboratively with a talented team of diverse teachers and administrators. Have strong classroom management skills Have experience managing others and being a team player. Duties Collaborating with other Teachers and Education Directors to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum that follows the standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Texas Rising Star, and Texas Pre‑K and Kindergarten guidelines. Managing and supporting the Assistant Teachers in the classroom through collaboration, modeling, and frequent communication. Complete developmentally appropriate assessments of each child. Communication with families, both verbal and written. Building positive relationships with parents and coworkers. Maintaining the confidentiality of all staff, children, and families. Demonstrating respect for diverse families and cultures. Being physically active to monitor and participate in children's games and movement activities. Individualizing for each child. Ensuring compliance with all licensing regulations and standards. Qualifications Required: Minimum of 1+ years of lead classroom teaching experience. Required: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or EC Special Education. Candidates must meet all TDFPS and THHSC requirements and must pass state and national background checks. Must be able to lift/carry at least 25+ pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be physically active within the classroom. Must be able to bend down. General computer proficiency.
