Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, monitoring maternal and fetal status and intervening as needed.
• Administer medications and therapies within scope, while documenting outcomes accurately and promptly.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring patient safety.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines (physicians, anesthesia, support services) to maintain continuity of obstetric care.
• Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to respond to obstetric emergencies and ensure best-practice outcomes.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in California
• Experience in labor and delivery or obstetric nursing (travel experience preferred)
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
