Custodian (Part-Time) 2nd ShiftProvides custodial services at assigned site(s); ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; and assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities and building events.Essential Functions Including But Not Limited ToClean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers, wash windowsClean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and proceduresFollow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directedMay set up and tear down facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.May strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpetsResponsible for grounds cleanup and snow removal as necessaryHelps to maintain building and door securityCreate positive relationships with students, staff members, and all building stakeholdersOther duties assigned by the building administrator or Operations SupervisorEmployment QualificationsEDUCATION: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)EXPERIENCE: Preferred but not required; Working knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment equivalent to that gained in at least one year of experience or a combination of education and experiencePrevious experience working in a sanitation, custodial or maintenance position preferred, but not requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NonePhysical DemandsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to bend, twist, stoop, reach and kneelAbility to work at heights, ascend and descend laddersAbility to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversationAbility to hear and understand speechAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 poundsWork EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
