Project Manager Assistant - Environmental Laboratory

A Day in the Life As a Full‑Time Project Manager Assistant in our Anaheim, CA Laboratory, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi‑disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $23 to $32 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Responsibilities Assist with client account set‑up, project implementation, log‑in, storage, and verification of client samples. Verify chains of custody and notify clients of discrepancies. Review client protocols and verify the project account is set up accordingly. Create and assemble field sampling and sample bottle order kits, review work‑order tickets and send client sample‑receipt confirmation, and confirm sampling schedule with clients. Coordinate with subcontract labs for sample delivery and project status and generate subcontract COCs. Create and send reports to clients, including review of data for trends or anomalies; send invoices. Work directly with project managers, group leaders and clients. Provide general administrative project support: keep detailed project notes and records, organize and maintain project data files (quotes, chain of custody, study plan/protocol, lab instructions, etc.). Manage small and simple project accounts. Maintain and monitor project plans and schedule (sample pulls, delivery, and available sample inventory). Assist with project tracking and inter‑laboratory communication. Generate and submit state reporting forms. Assist Sample Receiving team with deliveries and drop‑offs as needed. Use the LIMS, create/edit EDDs. Participate in client calls and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Your Expertise and Skills BS/BA in an analytical science or equivalent experience in an analytical/environmental laboratory. Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Highly motivated and self‑starter. Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization. Flexible schedule, including overtime as needed. Ability to multi‑task under strict deadlines. PMA experience is preferred but not required. Preferred Skills Collaborative problem‑solving and ability to analyze issues then take charge and implement solutions. Independent work, managing multiple responsibilities. Interface with cross‑functional teams and all levels of personnel/management. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Solid organization and time/project management skills. English language competency.
