Step into a fulfilling contract role as a Special Education Teacher, supporting young learners in their earliest school years. In this EC resource position, you'll work with a caseload of approximately 24 students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, guiding their growth and development in a supportive environment. This role offers flexibility—expect around 25 hours weekly, or potentially a 4-day, 20-hour workweek, starting August 17th.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Valid Exceptional Children (EC) licensure for North Carolina is required
• Previous experience working with elementary students, especially grades K-2, is highly valued
• Strong ability to collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Familiarity with the ECATS system is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills for managing caseload paperwork and referrals
• A passion for differentiated instruction and advocacy for children with exceptional needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted interventions through pull-out reading sessions
• Offer in-class support for mathematics via push-in services
• Complete student progress reports every five weeks
• Initiate and process new referrals as part of student support
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within the ECATS platform
• Foster positive communication with parents, teachers, and other relevant staff
