Position Summary: Rochester Christian University is seeking an Athletic Admissions Coordinator to serve as the primary Admissions point of contact for prospective student-athletes, their families, and RCU coaches.

With student-athletes representing a significant portion of RCU's student population, this position plays an important role in creating a coordinated, responsive, and student-centered admissions experience. The Athletic Admissions Coordinator will provide consistent support to student-athletes throughout the admissions process—from application through enrollment—while giving coaches one dedicated Admissions contact for questions regarding their prospective students.

This position combines admissions counseling, student recruitment, relationship management, and administrative coordination. The successful candidate will be highly organized, responsive, relationship-oriented, and comfortable working closely with students, families, coaches, and colleagues across the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Student-Athlete Admissions Coordination

• Serve as the primary Admissions contact for prospective student-athletes and their families throughout the admissions and enrollment process.

• Guide student-athletes from application through admission, deposit, and enrollment.

• Monitor the athletic admissions pipeline and proactively follow up with students regarding missing transcripts, incomplete applications, outstanding documents, deposits, and other required next steps.

• Provide students and families with timely updates regarding their admissions status and help them understand the next steps in the enrollment process.

• Assist student-athletes in navigating University processes and connect them with Financial Aid, Advising, Student Financial Services, Athletics, or other campus offices when appropriate.

• Identify student-athletes who have stalled in the admissions process and conduct proactive outreach to help move them toward enrollment.

• Maintain accurate and timely student information and communication records.

Coach & Athletics Partnership

• Serve as the primary Admissions point of contact for RCU coaches regarding prospective student-athletes.

• Provide coaches with timely information regarding application status, missing documents, admission decisions, deposits, and other admissions-related enrollment steps.

• Develop strong working relationships with coaches and Athletics leadership to support recruitment and roster goals.

• Provide regular updates regarding the athletic admissions pipeline and identify students who require additional follow-up or action.

• Create a streamlined communication process between Admissions and Athletics so coaches have one Admissions resource rather than navigating multiple staff members.

• Partner with coaches to troubleshoot admissions-related issues and help prospective student-athletes successfully navigate the enrollment process.

Athletic Recruitment & Campus Visit Support

• Serve as the primary Admissions backup for athletic prospect visits when coaches are unavailable.

• Conduct campus tours for prospective student-athletes and their families.

• Meet with prospective student-athletes and families to discuss the RCU admissions process, academic opportunities, campus life, scholarships, and next steps.

• Support athletic prospect days, camps, recruiting events, and other Athletics-related enrollment activities as needed.

• Assist coaches in creating a positive and welcoming campus experience for prospective student-athletes and their families.

Admissions Team Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of the Admissions team and support broader University recruitment and enrollment initiatives as needed.

• Assist with Admissions events, including visit days, orientation programs, admitted student events, and other recruitment activities.

• Represent Rochester Christian University professionally and positively when interacting with prospective students, families, coaches, and community members.

• Collaborate with Financial Aid, Advising, Athletics, Registrar, Student Financial Services, and other campus departments to support students through enrollment.

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of University enrollment goals.

Performance Expectations: Success in this position will be measured through both student-athlete enrollment outcomes and the effectiveness of creating a centralized, responsive athletic admissions process. Key measures may include:

• Establishing a clear and consistent Admissions point of contact for coaches, student-athletes, and families.

• Timely responses and follow-up with coaches and prospective student-athletes.

• Effective management of student-athletes with incomplete or stalled admissions files.

• Student-athlete application-to-admit, admit-to-deposit, and deposit-to-enrollment conversion rates.

• Progress toward University student-athlete enrollment and roster goals.

• Regular and accurate reporting of the athletic admissions pipeline.
