DescriptionThe Strategic Execution, Governance & Automation Lead is responsible for driving the execution, governance, remediation, and automation of critical reporting, risk, audit, compliance, and strategic initiatives within a technology organization. This role serves as a central point of coordination across governance, technology, architecture, risk and control partners, ensuring governance commitments, remediation activities, and strategic deliverables are completed with accuracy, discipline, and accountability.The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Governance Lead with a proven track record of leveraging automation to optimize data retrieval, reconciliation, analysis, reporting, and governance processes. This individual combines deep expertise in governance, risk management, and executive reporting with strong technical capabilities in automation and analytics. They are skilled at transforming complex business challenges into actionable insights, improving operational efficiency, reducing manual effort, and enabling data-driven decision-making through innovative solutions.The successful candidate brings a unique blend of strategic execution, governance leadership, analytical rigor, and automation expertise, with advanced proficiency in at least one automation technology, such as Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Python, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, AI technologies, or other advanced reporting platforms. They leverage these tools to enhance governance oversight, streamline workflows, improve data quality, automate reporting processes, and deliver scalable solutions that support business objectives.Strategic Execution· Led governance forums, executive reviews, and strategic routines across technology, risk, audit, compliance, and business stakeholders.· Managed end-to-end remediation of audit, regulatory, risk-identified, and self-identified issues, including root cause analysis, action planning, milestone tracking, escalation management, and closure validation.· Developed governance frameworks, operating models, procedures, and playbooks that strengthened accountability, control effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.· Delivered executive reporting, governance scorecards, risk assessments, and decision-support materials that enabled leadership oversight and informed decision-making.· Demonstrated strong ownership and execution discipline, successfully navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and driving complex initiatives to completion.Analytics, Reporting & Executive Communication· Transformed complex governance, audit, risk, and operational data into actionable insights, trend analysis, health assessments, and executive narratives.· Identified reporting inconsistencies, control gaps, and systemic issues while providing clear recommendations for remediation and continuous improvement.· Produced concise, risk-focused presentations and executive communications suitable for senior management, audit, and regulatory audiences.Automation & Process Improvement· Leveraged automation and analytics technologies, including Excel VBA, Python, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, AI solutions, and advanced reporting platforms, to optimize data retrieval, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting workflows.· Automated recurring governance, risk, compliance, and executive reporting processes, improving data quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.· Streamlined workflows, reduced manual effort, and developed scalable reporting and governance solutions that support business objectives and enhance decision-making.· Utilized AI and prompt engineering capabilities to improve reporting consistency, accelerate deliverable production, and strengthen oversight governance.Desired QualificationsHow This Person Shows Up• Calm, confident, and credible with senior leadership• Detail oriented with strong respect for timelines, commitments, and accuracy• Comfortable surfacing issues early and escalating appropriately• Organized, disciplined, and reliable in follow through• Seen as a trusted execution and issue resolution partner, not just reporting supportWhat This Person Is NOT• A junior PM looking for direction• A governance “policy only” contributor• Someone who tracks issues without driving resolution• A passive note taker or deck assembler• Someone uncomfortable with audit scrutiny, timelines, or executive accountabilityJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
