Capital Markets Associate

Overview Job Overview: A law firm seeks a Capital Markets Associate to join its Short Hills, NJ office. This role involves working with public companies on reporting, compliance, corporate governance, and capital markets. The associate will support a national capital markets and public company advisory practice. Responsibilities Conduct thorough legal research and analysis. Draft legal documents, including briefs and contracts. Manage complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies. Participate in high-level legal activities such as hearings and negotiations. Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations. Engage in professional development opportunities. Contribute to firm programs and pro bono work. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of capital markets experience. Experience with large cap and mid cap public companies. Strong knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Experience with Nasdaq and NYSE listing and governance requirements. AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred. Education JD degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and good business judgment. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Persuasive communication and management skills.
