Position SummaryAs an Independent Living Skills Trainer , you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey toward greater independence and self-sufficiency. You’ll work one-on-one or in group settings to teach essential life skills, provide guidance, and foster confidence in the individuals we serve. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to create meaningful, lasting change.
Key Responsibilities Your day-to-day will include:
- Teaching and assisting individuals in developing essential independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, personal hygiene, and time management.
- Supporting individuals in navigating community resources and services.
- Encouraging self-advocacy and empowering individuals to make informed decisions.
- Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate documentation of activities and outcomes.
- Collaborating with families, caregivers, and other team members to ensure holistic support.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or similar populations.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to the unique needs of each individual.
