Emergency Department Technician

Provides emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician's assistant, and/or registered nurse.

Responsibilities include performing technical procedures, establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, transporting patients, performing ECGs, and assisting with medical procedures.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: HS Diploma or GED.
• Required Licensure/Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Current State Licensure as an EMT-P. Additional certifications as defined by position level requirements.
• Minimum Experience: None Required.
