1.00 Minimum Qualifications Position Summary This research-focused postdoctoral fellowship will provide opportunities to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of investigators, research staff, community partners, and trainees across multiple research projects. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to research examining how social and contextual experiences, including experiences of racism and other forms of chronic and traumatic stress, shape maternal health and health across the lifespan. A central emphasis of the position is translating rigorous research into knowledge and approaches that are meaningful and useful to communities. The postdoctoral associate will have opportunities to participate in multiple stages of the research process, including study implementation and project coordination; quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed-methods data analysis; manuscript preparation; dissemination of findings to scientific and community audiences; development of grant proposals; and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate trainees. Depending on the candidate's expertise and interests, opportunities may also include work with biological, physiological, behavioral, or other health-related data. The fellowship is designed to support the development of an independent program of research. The postdoctoral associate will receive mentorship in scientific writing, grant development, community-engaged research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and career development and will be encouraged to develop manuscripts and projects aligned with their own emerging research interests using available data and resources. This is a full-time, one-year research-focused postdoctoral position. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant social, behavioral, public health, or life science discipline, including but not limited to psychology, sociology, public health, neuroscience, genetics, human development and family science, or a closely related field Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies • Demonstrated interest in research related to maternal health, racial trauma and stress, community-engaged research, health disparities, and/or health and well-being across the lifespan.
• Strong training in quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, biological, or other research methodologies relevant to social, behavioral, or health science research.
• Ability to analyze and interpret research data and contribute to peer-reviewed scientific publications.
• Strong scientific writing, oral communication, organizational, and project-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary research teams that include investigators, research staff, students, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
• Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple research activities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to respectful, reciprocal, and culturally responsive engagement with research participants and community partners.
• Ability to communicate research findings effectively to both scientific and non-academic audiences.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity, including peer-reviewed publications and/or manuscripts in preparation.
