Mechanic

Mechanic Position at South Main Trucking Co.

South Main Trucking Co. currently has an opening at our Greensburg branch for a Mechanic. Monday-Friday 12:00 PM-8:00PM

Responsibilities:

• Servicing and repairing vehicles
• Troubleshooting potential mechanical issues
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Perform repair and replacement work, including but not limited to oil, tires, brakes, lamps, and various other parts
• Travel to other branches to make repairs

Requirements:

• Have own tools
• At least 21 years old (insurance purposes)
• Pass the DOT Physical
• Clean driving record
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to perform repair and replacement work included but not limited to oil, tires, brakes, lamps and various other parts
• Willing to learn and expand skill set
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Work overtime as required
• Meet DOT regulatory requirements for operating company or related vehicles
• Familiar with all DOT regulations and truck operations
• Sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and company requirements

Preferred:

• Forklift mechanical knowledge
• Electrical knowledge
• Basic computer skills
• Graduate of a technical school, military school or relevant working experience

Must submit to a background check and drug testing
