Heavy Equipment MechanicEssential KnowledgeAbility to disassemble and reassemble large machines (excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.).Experience with machine undercarriages.Experience with hydraulic and cylinder repair.Diagnose, repair, and rebuild on/off road vehicles and equipment.Order parts from approved sources; some computer skills required.Strong hydraulic knowledge of pumps, valves, cylinders and the computer interfaces.Electrical knowledge of vehicles and equipment.Welding and light fabrication experience a plus.Perform inspections and preventive maintenance. A Pennsylvania inspection license not required.Prepare maintenance records; light computer skills needed.Must have suitable tools; specialty tools are provided.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Trade school or work at equipment dealers a plus but not mandatory.At least five (3) years of heavy equipment experience preferred.Able to read parts/service manuals; understand schematics.Able to work with other technicians to keep a safe and friendly environment.Must be a self-motivated individual wanting to progress.Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; pre-employment criminal and employer background checks will be conducted.Current valid driver's license required, as well as reliable transportation to get to work.
