This position will report to the Northern Illinois Regional Manager in our office located in downtown Chicago, IL. Job Description The Project Engineer will perform civil engineering design services in a team‑oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion‑dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies—municipal, county and state. Duties & Responsibilities Daily production of civil engineering design plans Work as part of a team to deliver quality design that adheres to the project budget and schedule Responsible and accountable for client/customer satisfaction and technical project execution Perform other job duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university required Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois, or ability to obtain IL licensure in 3 months required 5‑10 years of hands‑on plan preparation experience for public agency transportation projects required, DOT project experience is preferred (IDOT is a plus) Familiarity with procedures, methodologies, and standards including but limited to the HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, US Access Board guidelines Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) within IDOT/Tollway and other agency CADD environments Proficiency with Excel and other general office software Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills Physical Qualifications Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods Visual focus for electronic documents and design software Sufficient mobility to move to various locations in and out of the office to use various office equipment, coordinate with other staff, visit other EFK Moen and client offices/meeting locations EFK Moen offers Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Company Holidays Paid Parental Leave Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Contribution Company sponsored Short and Long-Term disability coverage Company sponsored life insurance coverage Professional License exam fee reimbursement Bonus opportunities Support of professional organization membership and activities Work‑life balance through a flexible, casual work environment A culture of mentoring and teamwork Starting Salary Range: $105,000-120,000 Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
