Harvey Vogel Manufacturing Co. has immediate openings for an experienced Press Brake Set-Up and Operator on 2nd shift.
- Location: Woodbury (in person)
- 2nd shift: Mon–Thu, 3:15pm–1:45am
- Pay: $24.00–$32.00 per hour; competitive benefits package
Key requirements: 2–3 years press brake setup/operator experience, ability to read prints, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
POSITION PURPOSE: To setup and operate brake press equipment in a safe manner, with focus on customer satisfaction and on time delivery.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Set-up and operate Cincinnati Brake Press machines using such materials as: stainless steel, cold rolled steel, and aluminum.
- Set up and run complex bend/forming operations using standard and custom punch/die tooling, and verify first-piece quality before proceeding.
- Ability to perform math, and measure part dimensions using a variety of instruments such as calipers, protractors, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, etc.
- Ability to meet production rates.
- Read prints, inspect parts (including critical dimensions), and complete inspection documentation.
- Maintain calibrated tools.
- Ability to stand and work in various positions for several hours at a time.
- Identify areas for process improvement, cost, and waste reduction.
- Must work in a safe manner following safety procedures.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- 2–3 years of experience in brake press set-up and operation.
- Strong work ethic and good attendance.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, and understand and follow verbal directions.
- Must adhere to company safety requirements.
- Proficient in shop math.
- Detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of proforma software a plus.
