Overview

Proper Coffee Solutions, LLC is looking for a mechanically-minded, problem solver who has an affection for coffee. We have an opportunity available for a Coffee Equipment Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and full installations on various coffee machines and equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, batch brewers, and coffee roasters
• Perform diagnostic assessments to gain full understanding of performance, identifying key issues and deriving effective solutions
• Coordinate with Senior Technician to access, source, or acquire necessary parts, kits, tools, and resources for assigned jobs and services
• Keep meticulous records of services performed, including taking pictures and offering next steps and other comments for client reference
• Use applicable resources, including schematic drawings and support tutorials to execute effective repairs
• Provide exemplary customer service and communicate effectively with clients and team regarding updates to services, changes in billing, and other necessary items
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for repairs and upkeep
• Maintain accurate daily reports to track job-specific labor, travel, and other expenses
• Report status of each job through the appropriate channels, including images and comments throughout the assessment and service stages of the process
• Completes repairs, services and maintenance on-site and off-site
• Provides concise on-site training after equipment installations
• Participates in continuing education for areas pertinent to covered coffee equipment and the service industry

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Technical or mechanical experience or education preferred
• Reliable Transportation
• Willingness to collaborate and proactive in seeking learning and training opportunities
• Ability to lift and maneuver coffee equipment
• Current Texas drivers license required and US passport preferred
• Enthusiastic about doing things the Proper way
• Reassuring and supportive communication style, willing to educate and support clients
• Familiar with current technology, including access to a smart device for work and use of mobile apps

Schedule and Pay

• Pay rate starts between $17.00 and $22.00 an hour, based on experience
• Eligible for pay review after 90 days
• Part-time based on workload and availability and can range throughout the week and at a variety of times
• Ability to work on-site at various locations generally in the Greater Houston area
• Some regional work and travel opportunities available
