We're looking for a Head of DevOps to build and scale our DevOps organization. NoTraffic's platform controls live traffic signals at thousands of intersections, combining cloud software with a fleet of edge devices in the field. You'll lead the team that keeps it all running: shipping reliably across both cloud and edge, scaling our infrastructure as we grow, and setting the bar for operational excellence.

Your day to day will look like:

• Build and lead the DevOps function. Hire, grow, and retain a high-quality team. Set the technical bar, define career ladders, and shape the culture. Evolve the team into a proactive platform that other R&D teams depend on as a force multiplier
• Run infrastructure as a product. Build reproducible environments through IaC, automated provisioning, and fleet management designed to scale sub-linearly with customer count
• Make deployments boring, across both the cloud platform and the edge fleet (thousands of units deployed at customer intersections). Build the guardrails, staged rollouts, automated verification, and rollback mechanisms that let any engineer ship confidently
• Own the cloud cost function. Build visibility into where spend is going, set and defend budgets, and establish cost-awareness as a routine part of architecture and provisioning. Make rightsizing, waste cleanup, and cost tradeoffs first-class engineering concerns
• Own observability and incident response tooling across the stack. Provide a comprehensive real-time view of cloud services and edge devices state. When something breaks, it's either auto-healed or the right people are paged with enough context to act immediately
• Lead DevSecOps as a continuous practice. Own secrets management, access control, network segmentation, dependency and container scanning, and audit-readiness. Partner with security team to harden our posture proactively

Requirements:

• 8+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering, including 3+ years leading teams
• Track record of owning production infrastructure for a SaaS product at meaningful scale, ideally one with a field-deployed hardware or IoT component

Technical depth:

• Deep expertise in AWS: compute, networking, IAM, cost management, and managed data services
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform (or equivalent IaC), and modern CI/CD tooling
• Solid observability experience: Prometheus, Grafana, log aggregation, distributed tracing
• Security-aware by default: secrets management, network segmentation, identity, and compliance-adjacent work (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar)

Leadership and judgment:

• Strong people leader: hires well, grows engineers, runs a focused team, and represents DevOps credibly in cross-functional forums
• Pragmatic and opinionated: can tell the difference between infrastructure that earns its complexity and infrastructure being built for its own sake.
• Reaches for the simple solution first and scales up deliberately
• Outcome-oriented: frames work around business and engineering outcomes. Comfortable defending tradeoffs to non-DevOps stakeholders
