But at the heart of our business is our people. Role Purpose Leads and directs the work of other deicing personnel and gives instruction, support and training to employees. Leads the team to apply de-icing fluid to commercial aircraft, perform quality control checks, and report on de-icing fluid transactions, driving and operating large specialized commercial vehicles at times and as such you will require a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record. What You Will Be Doing Responsible for timely and efficient delivery of deicing services. Assist with the scheduling of employees. Responsible for checking aircraft for leading edge ice and frost. Apply deice fluid type 1 and 4 to aircraft wings, fuselage and tail. Responsible for driving large heavy vehicles around aircraft while deicing operation is being performed. Responsible for accurate accounting of deicing fluid transactions. Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles. Operate headset/radio to provide communication between ground crew, flight crew, and dispatch. Know and comply with all safety procedures. Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FFA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information on a one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to perform basic math calculations, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers. able to lift and move up to 70lbs. Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Pass pre-employment drug screen, color vision test, background check, and all other required pre-employment screening Must Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FFA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations Must pass background check and obtain US Customs seal Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
