Posting FTE: 0.60 Posting Schedule: Part-time; .60 FTE HR Mission: School of Medicine Drug Testable: Yes Function/Duties of Position Responsibilities are determined by the Dietetics Discipline Director and the Feeding Clinic Director to meet the objectives of both the dietetics discipline and the clinical feeding program. Primary duties include comprehensive nutritional assessment, interdisciplinary case management, and coordination of care plans for patients evaluated through team-based assessments. Nutritional intervention may serve as the primary therapy for some patients. At time of posting, primary duties will focus on infants and children with complex feeding disorders. This position requires undivided effort and may include providing relief coverage for colleagues. Nutritional Assessment, Nutritional Care Plan Development & Implementation Review medical records to obtain detailed medical history, dietary intake, food tolerances, allergies, and food preparation practices. Analyze clinical data including growth parameters, laboratory values, diagnoses, medications, and medical history to determine nutritional status. Perform physical nutrition assessments and/or Subjective Global Assessments as appropriate. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including medical providers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and social workers, to address factors affecting pediatric nutrition. Interview caregivers and integrate findings from medical providers and oral‑motor specialists to develop coordinated, team‑based recommendations. Develop and adjust nutrition plans, which may include: Alternative feeding modalities based on chewing or swallowing difficulties Therapeutic diet modifications Adjustments to food types and quantities Formula selection or modification Tube feeding management Incorporate cultural food preferences and family routines into care plans. Work with team to determine appropriate feeding methods for infants and children with swallowing disorders or those unable to meet nutritional needs orally. Prepare and document treatment plans and write feeding orders in the electronic medical record. Communicate recommendations to caregivers. Connect with referral sources as necessary to coordinate care. Clinic Coordination & Clinical Case Management Facilitate interdisciplinary team communication and care coordination. Maintain high standards of professionalism. Promote active family participation throughout evaluation and treatment. Provide comprehensive patient and caregiver education. Required Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in nutrition OR a Master’s degree in Nutrition from an accredited college or university. Completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved dietetic internship program. Certification as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and licensure to practice in the State of Oregon.
