Baker/Cake Decorator
The Market Basket, Bergen County's leading Gourmet Food Store, is seeking an experienced Baker/Cake Decorator. We are looking for a passionate, skilled baker who loves working with high-quality ingredients and takes pride in their craft. The successful candidate will collaborate with our team of bakers in a fast-paced, exciting and unique environment. Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare pastry, cakes, pies and associated baked goods
- Decorate the items above for both retail sales and catering
- Monitor the quality of all food
- Develop new items by following and creating market trends (Vegan, Gluten Free, etc.)
- Work efficiently and help to resolve any problems that arise in the pastry kitchen
- Operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and remain calm under pressure
- Maintain a clean kitchen and abide by all state food safety and sanitation laws
Skills:
- Excellent communications and organization skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong and positive work ethic and integrity
- Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices
- Teamwork abilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that include weekends and holidays as needed
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $28.00)
