Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency DepartmentJoin Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health!The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members; and accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered in an emergency department setting.What you will doConduct an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs as specified by policy along with collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.Monitor and document patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.Perform appropriate treatments and administrations of medication accurately per order, policy, and timely.Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and family.Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to the provider and other staff during SBAR report.Education QualificationsADN RequiredBSN PreferredMSN PreferredExperience QualificationsPrevious experience in an acute care critical care setting PreferredSkills and AbilitiesAbility to work with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.Ability to maintain confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient's and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.Demonstrate critical thinking abilities with patient care, critical test results, provider contacts, and Administrative House Supervisors Document the critical test results per policy.Licenses and CertificationsRegistered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation RequiredBasic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days RequiredAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 1 Year RequiredTrauma Nurse Core Course - Emergency Nurse Association within 2 Years RequiredPediatric Advanced Life Support Certified - American Heart Association PreferredEmergency Nursing Pediatric Course - American Nurses Credentialing Center within 2 Years PreferredPhysical Demand Medium Physical Demand The intent of this job description is to provide a representative and level of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a contract for employment nor a declaration of the total of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
