Scope of Project:


The Virginia Department of Health is seeking an EHR Stability Analyst to support the deployment, adoption, stability, and continuous improvement of its Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.


The analyst will support Local Health District end users, evaluate operational and clinical workflows, document enhancement opportunities, and collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors. The role will also contribute to interim solutions and long-term improvements that strengthen EHR usability and align the system with clinical and operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide responsive application support to EHR users across Local Health Districts.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and appropriately escalate application issues.
• Monitor and maintain EHR workflows, processes, and procedures.
• Engage stakeholders to understand operational needs, assess current EHR capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend alternative solutions.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and other Agile documentation.
• Support functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with technical, clinical, business, and vendor teams.
• Create clear user documentation, job aids, and training materials.
• Support rolling EHR go-live activities, including onsite assistance at Local Health Districts.
• Help develop interim solutions and strategies for long-term system improvements.

Required Skills:

• 5 years of experience providing responsive support to EHR users across Local Health Districts.
• 7 years of experience triaging, troubleshooting, and escalating application issues.
• 5 years of experience monitoring and maintaining EHR workflows, processes, and procedures.
• 7 years of experience engaging stakeholders, evaluating EHR capabilities, identifying gaps, and recommending alternative solutions.
• 7 years of experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for system enhancements.
• 7 years of experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, and Agile documentation.
• 7 years of experience supporting functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• 7 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional technical, clinical, and business teams.
• 7 years of experience producing user documentation, job aids, and training materials.
• 5 years of application support experience, preferably in healthcare environments.
• 7 years of experience participating in structured testing cycles.
• 7 years of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Visio.
• 7 years of experience supporting or implementing EHR systems.
• 3 years of knowledge or experience with Oracle Health/Cerner platforms and public health workflows.
• 2 years of experience supporting go-live activities.

Preferred Skills:

• 5 years of experience in requirements documentation and enhancement analysis.
• 5 years of demonstrated analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• 5 years of understanding or experience with clinical, pharmaceutical, and patient billing workflows.
• 5 years of experience with SQL, Oracle databases, or web application environments.
• 5 years of familiarity with Agile methodologies and documentation practices.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.
• Candidates must be willing and able to interview onsite in Richmond, VA.
• Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite in Richmond at least one day each week.
• Additional onsite attendance at Local Health Districts is required during rolling EHR go-live activities.
