About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its organization, which is dedicated to fostering emerging leaders in the legal profession and expanding access to the appellate field. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the organization, including program development, fundraising, and external partnerships. This role requires a leader with a strong commitment to racial equity, representation, and expanding access within the legal profession, as well as a proven track record in nonprofit management, fundraising, and institutional relationship development. The Executive Director will work closely with the Faculty Director of the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law to ensure the organization's long-term sustainability and impact. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include overseeing the design and implementation of mentorship, clerkship support, and professional development programs, as well as managing the organization's budget and financial stewardship. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years' of leadership experience in mission-driven organizations, exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. They should be adept at strategic planning, and operational problem-solving, and have experience with evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness. Familiarity with CRM systems and a background in legal advocacy or related fields is preferred. The role demands a collaborative, emotionally intelligent leader who can serve as a public representative and thought partner within the legal community.
