Position Overview

Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,500–$1,580
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Location: Atlanta, Georgia
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 6, 2027
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 guaranteed hours weekly
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Healthcare Setting: Level III NICU and special care nursery within a high-volume delivery hospital
• Holiday Requirement: Work two major holidays—Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day—and one minor holiday, such as the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve

Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia
• At least 2 years of recent nursing experience in Mother/Baby, NICU, or a comparable special care nursery setting
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong neonatal assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Neonatal Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to newborns and families in a Level III special care nursery environment
• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly identify changes in patient condition
• Support the care of premature, medically complex, and high-risk newborns according to established standards and clinical protocols
• Administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate documentation, and use Cerner for timely electronic charting
• Educate and support parents and caregivers regarding newborn care, treatment plans, discharge preparation, and transition needs
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and participate in neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
