Membership Representative

The Lansdowne YMCA is looking for a Membership Representative. This is a Part Time position. We are looking for someone in the afternoons, Monday through Friday.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Follows and applies all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures dealing with member services. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Opens, maintains and closes cash drawer for membership sales in an accurate manner.
• Enters/updates member information into computer system and maintains member files.
• May monitor the locker rooms as required.
• Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
• Complete required trainings.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Basic knowledge of computers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs.
• Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
• Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety
