Senior Counsel, Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits

Job Overview McDonald’s Corporate Legal department is seeking an attorney to assist with a broad range of executive compensation issues, compensation disclosures, insider trading issues, global equity awards, and ERISA issues. This role helps ensure that the Company complies with relevant laws and rules, monitors trends, and collaborates with senior‑level clients to achieve business goals. Responsibilities Advise on all aspects of executive and director compensation matters, including drafting and interpreting compensation plans or arrangements Draft compensation disclosures, including those in the proxy statement and Form 8‑K as well as Section 16 reports Advise on legal issues associated with global equity compensation programs Advise on stock trading plans, insider trading issues and assist with management of insider trading policy Assist with preparing materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board, collaborating with internal subject matter experts Provide legal support on a variety of qualified and non‑qualified retirement plans and employee benefit matters Stay abreast of and advise on developing trends in executive and director compensation and ERISA, including shareholder and advisor voting policies Salary Expected salary range: $168,350 – 218,860 per year. Qualifications JD degree and admitted to practice in the U.S. 6+ years of experience in the field Prior in‑house experience preferred Thorough understanding of executive and director compensation and associated disclosure rules Ability to communicate complex issues effectively to senior‑level business leaders Ability to work with and lead cross‑functional teams Strong analytical and writing skills Benefits This position offers health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) plan, adoption assistance program, educational assistance program, flexible ways of working, and time off policies including sick leave, parental leave, and vacation/PTO.
