Sr. Controls & Compliance Analyst I

About The Role Sr. Controls & Compliance Analyst will assist in designing and implementing process improvement, governance and best practices across the organization. They will partner and collaborate with Accounting, Finance, AR/AP, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and IT teams internally as well as manage certain aspects of the relationship with external auditors and consultants. Simultaneously, they will work directly with their leadership team to innovate and must effectively communicate ideas and findings in a high‑pace environment. Schedule: Full Time Job Type: Hybrid Salary Type: Salary Req #: 2827 What The Candidate Will Do Assist in the creation and evaluation risk of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls Act as advisor and play an interpretive role for the business on various audit, controls, risk, and financial compliance requirements Align with internal and external teams to ensure end‑to‑end coverage of customer financial risk (including passthrough economics) through customer negotiation support, self‑reviews, ad‑hoc analytics, dispute resolution, and formal external customer audits Establish thorough communication protocol with business unit leadership and teams to ensure continuous engagement in risk/process changes and related controls Identify control gaps or process issues and co‑own the development of remediation measures with business process owners; monitor control deficiencies and partner to implement action plans in a timely manner Monitor creation and maintenance of processes and control narratives to ensure documentation exists for all relevant processes and is updated timely with changes to process or process controls Regularly report to Controls & Compliance management on matters concerning the status of controls and compliance procedures performed and issues identified Drive continuous evaluation and strategic improvement of Uber Freight’s control environment. Supports management’s development of plans for continuous improvement of financial controls that: Ensure are GAAP compliant Leverage best practices Leverage pre‑existing processes or initiatives already underway within Uber Freight Are aligned with broader strategic objectives for the unit and company Manage positive and collaborative relationships with Finance & Accounting personnel and external auditors Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field At least 3 years’ experience in accounting, SOX, audit, or internal controls Knowledge of SOX, COSO, internal controls, auditing/accounting policies, US GAAP, and financial best practices Strong analytical, project management, problem‑solving, and communication skills Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of an ERP system (Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning) Master’s degree or MBA Public accounting, advisory, or forensic experience; Big 4 CPA or CIA (or actively pursuing) Strong diplomacy/collaboration and ability to synthesize issues for leadership Comfort leveraging technology for process improvement/automation Working knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office applications Benefits & Compensation for U.S. Employees Employees working more than 30 hours in the U.S. at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits such as a company‑sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401(k) match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.
