Distribution Center Manager (Buena Park, CA)

Location: Buena Park, California Type: Direct Hire Job: 10104 Job Title: Distribution Center Manager Job Type: Full-time; On-site Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Lead all DC functions, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and transportation. Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and HAZMAT regulations, specifically regarding battery storage (Flooded, AGM, Lithium-Ion) and thermal event mitigation. Performance Management: Own the full P&L, including labor, transportation, and shrink. Use data analytics to track and improve KPIs such as Units Per Hour (UPH), Order Cycle Time, and OTIF. Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean and 5S initiatives to optimize throughput and cost efficiency. Team Development: Oversee hiring, onboarding, and ongoing safety certifications while fostering a culture of accountability and emotional intelligence. Strategic Coordination: Partner with Procurement, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory flow and resolve customer issues. Experience BA Degree or equivalent (3.0+ GPA preferred). 8–12+ years of leadership experience in distribution or logistics, preferably in regulated or hazardous material environments. Advanced proficiency in WMS/ERP systems (NetSuite preferred). Strong MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs). Certified Forklift Trainer with advanced knowledge of material handling equipment. Deep understanding of DOT/HOS requirements and HAZCOMM safety procedures.
