We are looking for a Linguist who will participate in a variety of formal and informal activities as dictated by the needs of the business, which may include:

• Supporting Machine Learning experts in language-specific areas for our target language (US English). Tasks include creating grammars, providing language data, annotation for NLP projects, writing documentation, reviewing data, testing, and proposing improvements.
• Performing translation, localization, data annotation, phonetic transcription, speech synthesis, machine translation, natural utterance generation, grammar checking, ASR transcription, automation, text mining, and other NLP tasks.
• Researching, planning, and documenting product features for diverse audiences such as developers, IT admins, sales engineers, and end users.
• Identifying and resolving issues related to documentation, project schedules, structure, design, and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Native US English speaker with strong grammar, spelling, and syntax skills. MUST be native US English speaker.
• Proficiency in Spanish with strong grammar, spelling, and syntax knowledge.
• Experience in translation and/or localization for English and Spanish.
• Ability to focus on repetitive testing and data review tasks for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to build relationships and advocate internally.
• Familiarity with voice assistants (e.g., Bixby, Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa, Cortana).
• Ability to learn technical information quickly, explain it to team members, and document it appropriately.
• Stay updated with trends and tools in the Android and mobile device ecosystem.
• Familiarity with smart home devices and IoT.
• Quick learner of new tools/software in Windows environment.
• Ability to understand and create use-cases for developers.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in computational linguistics or NLP.
• Bachelor's in Linguistics or related field.
• Experience with voice assistant software or academic settings.
• Scripting/programming/database skills (Python, Pandas, NumPy, SQL, Regex).
• Knowledge of US English linguistics and NLP.
• Ability to write clear, concise documentation for developers and IT teams.
• Experience in US English localization and Voice UX design.
• Data analysis skills, including Excel macros.
• Experience with content management and developer tools (SharePoint, Jira, Android Studio).
• Software QA/testing experience.
• Experience levels: 0-3 years or 3+ years.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Linguistics.
